"You don't understand, Charles," Erik says thickly, because the great walled divide between Erik and Shaw exists only because of what Shaw did to Erik when he was a child. He agrees. He agrees with his plans and he still holds out hope that he and Charles can pursue the same goals, but it will never be with Shaw because Shaw killed his mother.
