Erik regards Charles cautiously when he turns back. "You see," he says, "when I discuss having someone else, that's what you're doing to this poor woman. It's tantamount to torture, Charles. Give yourself to her and stop this selfish charade. If you want me to inform you that you cannot have me, then it's what I'll do," he snaps, drawing in closer, shoulders hunched in order to earn Charles' eye contact. "Even if I find another telepath, it doesn't matter. I don't need companionship. Give it to someone who deserves it, who's worthy of such attentions."
